Kode Etik APPRI merupakan kumpulan norma atau aturan moral organisasi APPRI, yang merupakan nilai-nilai luhur yang dianut oleh seluruh anggota APPRI dalam menjalankan usahanya.
APPRI’s Code of Ethics is a set of norms or moral rules of APPRI, noble values uphold by APPRI’s member in running the business.
Kode Etik APPRI memiliki tujuan :
Pertama, melindungi keberadaan anggota APPRI dalam menjalankan usahanya
Kedua, melindungi klien dan pemangku kepentingan lainnya dari malpraktik oleh perusahaan PR yang tidak profesional
Ketiga, membangun dan meningkatkan kualitas profesionalisme seluruh anggota APPRI.
Keempat, mendorong persaingan yang sehat antar perusahaan PR
Kelima, mencegah kecurangan antar perusahaan PR
Keenam, mencegah manipulasi atau disinformasi terhadap nilai-nilai profesional Perusahaan PR
APPRI’s Code of Ethic purposes are:
First, protect the existence of its member in running the business.
Second, protect the client and other stakeholders in malpractice by unprofessional PR Company.
Third, build and escalate the professionalism quality of every member of APPRI.
Fourth, encouraging healthy competition among PR Company.
Fifth, prevent fraudulence among PR Company.
Sixth, prevent manipulation or disinformation against professional value of PR Company.
The APPRI Code of Ethics is binding to be obeyed or adhered to and executed by every member of APPRI.
Member of APPRI is required to run the business in professional manner, upholds the ethics in PR, procedure and rules and related laws.
CORRUPTION, COLLUSION AND NEPOTISM
Members of APPRI do not do and will avoid practices of corruption, collusion and nepotism on participating in tender, pitching or auction and other activities
Members of APPRI have to deliver reliable, honest and clear information to all stakeholders.
In providing services to the customer or client, member of APPRI should provide expert service in certain professional standards as needed.
SERVICE COST AND PAYMENT
Member of APPRI determines the cost of the service or fee or payments related to work sensibly, properly to the potential client and clients, including creating a payment system according to the agreement between both parties.
RESPONSIBILITY ON THE PAYMENT VALUE
Member of APPRI are responsible to the payment value agreed with client on the contract, but must dare to resist doing some actions or things that are believed as not right according to the fact and seen as violating the ethics.
Member of APPRI required to respect, honor and create healthy competition that puts professionalism forward, without attempts to tear down, tackle or slander each other.
Member of APPRI is required to refuse client with bad faith such as giving task to communicate false or misleading or fact less or contains racism information and protecting any wrongdoing.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Member of APPRI is not allowed to serve or help client that have type of work or service in the same industry, at the same time which can lead to a conflict of interest.
Member of APPRI is required to keep and not divulge or leak client’s secret or confidential matters in the past, present or future to other party without consent from the related client (ex-client), otherwise under the request of law enforcement regarding related cases.
CONFLICT AMONG MEMBERS
If conflict or disagreement happen among member of APPRI in running the business, it have to be solved on the basis of deliberation and consensus. If the best solution cannot be found, each party could ask the help of the Board or other party to act as neutral mediator. Legal settlement should be the last option.
CONFLICT WITH CLIENT
Member of APPRI facing problems with potential client and/or clients, required settling the conflict on the basis of deliberation and consensus or through the help from the Board or other party to act as a neutral mediator. Legal settlement should be the last option.
TYPES OF SANCTION
Member of APPRI who violates the Code of Ethics shall receive sanction from the Board:
First: verbal reprimand
Second: written reprimand
Third: suspension of APPRI membership
Fourth: excommunication of APPRI membership.
In the affairs of conflict settlement, the technical form and types of sanction for the member who violates could be discussed or agreed by the ethics board comprise of APPRI Board member, lead by the Chairman of APPRI with members: Deputy Chairman, secretary, advisors, legal and organization caretaker.
Member who committed violations could convey their defense, but if its rejected, the said member should comply with the sanction imposed.
PROVISION OF CHANGE
Member of APPRI could suggest emend or revision on the APPRI Code of Ethics during the APPRI Congress, if there are clauses and/or articles that no longer fits the changing time or the existence of other norms need to be included.
